Thanks For All That You Do

I've had the good fortune to travel all over Kentucky and capture events and protest with my camera and camcorder. I've shot videos and photos of Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and many other dignitaries, but shooting photos and video of regular folks exercising their rights to protest is what I like doing best. It's grassroots folks like these that change our country for the better. They protest in the cold, the Ohio Valley sweltering heat and in the rain knowing full well that what they are doing may never be seen by many others or covered by the media. They do it because they believe in what they are doing, not for fame or financial gain. They do it because they want to make our country a better place for their children, grand children, spouses and for you and me. I love being around these folks for all kinds of reasons, but the main reason is they reinforce my belief in humanity. It's for that reason I've made this feeble attempt to recognize them with this video.

Mitch McConnell's Convocation at U of L Brandeis School of Law Graduation Not Without Protest. Video And Photos

Senator McConnell, the current Senate Minority Leader was this year's Convocation speaker at the University of Louisville's Brandeis School of Law  graduation ceremony.
Many graduating students, their families and friends attending the graduation sported buttons that read "Sen. McConnell Does Not Speak for Me." Outside the graduation, activists protested McConnell's support of the Defense of Marriage Act. Although the City of Louisville didn't anticipate any problems from the protest, even noting "No off-duty police provided" on the permit, there were several Louisville Police Department Officers on the scene for the duration of the 3 hour protest.
Noticeably missing were the news outlets, WAVE, WHAS, WLKY and the Courier Journal. It should also be noted that the major Louisville blogs didn't cover the protest.  Click here to view photos of the protest.
