Army medical examiners were suspicious about the close proximity of the three bullet holes in Pat Tillman’s forehead and tried without success to get authorities to investigate whether the former NFL player’s death amounted to a crime, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.

“The medical evidence did not match up with the, with the scenario as described,” a doctor who examined Tillman’s body after he was killed on the battlefield in Afghanistan in 2004 told investigators.

The doctors - whose names were blacked out - said that the bullet holes were so close together that it appeared the Army Ranger was cut down by an M-16 fired from a mere 10 yards or so away.

Is it possible Pat Tillman was murdered in the field In cold blood By other US soldiers?

Is this why Bush Administration is trying so desperately to hide behind their all purpose “Executive Privilege” shield?

In his last words moments before he was killed, Tillman snapped at a panicky comrade under fire to shut up and stop “sniveling.”

Army attorneys sent each other congratulatory e-mails for keeping criminal investigators at bay as the Army conducted an internal friendly-fire investigation that resulted in administrative, or non-criminal, punishments.

The three-star general who kept the truth about Tillman’s death from his family and the public told investigators some 70 times that he had a bad memory and couldn’t recall details of his actions.

No evidence at all of enemy fire was found at the scene - no one was hit by enemy fire, nor was any government equipment struck.

The Pentagon and the Bush administration have been criticized in recent months for lying about the circumstances of Tillman’s death. The military initially told the public and the Tillman family that he had been killed by enemy fire. Only weeks later did the Pentagon acknowledge he was gunned down by fellow Rangers.

Tillman’s mother, Mary Tillman, who has long suggested that her son was deliberately killed by his comrades, said she is still looking for answers and looks forward to the congressional hearings next week.

“Nothing is going to bring Pat back. It’s about justice for Pat and justice for other soldiers. The nation has been deceived,” she said.

After watching Pat Tillman’s mother and his brother Kevin Tillman speak before congress, I have come to the conclusion that the Tillman family has been used, abused and manipulate by our military for political and propaganda purposes.
To believe that George W. Bush has not been aware of this abuse and manipulation would be very naïve.
An Army Ranger who was with Pat Tillman when he died by friendly fire said Tuesday he was told by a higher-up to conceal that information from Tillman’s family.” I was ordered not to tell them,” U.S. Army Specialist Bryan O’Neal told the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
Kevin Tillman accused the military of “intentional falsehoods” and “deliberate and careful misrepresentations” in portraying Pat Tillman’s death in Afghanistan as the result of heroic engagement with the enemy instead of friendly fire.
“We believe this narrative was intended to deceive the family but more importantly the American public,” Kevin Tillman told a House Government Reform and Oversight Committee hearing. “Pat’s death was clearly the result of fratricide,” he said, contending that the military’s misstatements amounted to “fraud.”
“Revealing that Pat’s death was a fratricide would have been yet another political disaster in a month of political disasters (Abu Ghraib) so the truth needed to be suppressed,” Tillman said.

Leaked Pat Tillman Memo Warns of Bush Embarrassment

Just seven days after Pat Tillman's death, a top general warned there were strong indications that it was friendly fire and President Bush might embarrass himself if he said the NFL star-turned-soldier died in an ambush, according to a memo obtained by The Associated Press.
It was not until a month afterward that the Pentagon told the public and grieving family members the truth — that Tillman was mistakenly killed in Afghanistan by his comrades.
The memo reinforces suspicions that the Pentagon was more concerned with sparing officials from embarrassment than with leveling with Tillman's family.
In a memo sent to a four-star general a week after Tillman's April 22, 2004, death, then-Maj. Gen. Stanley McChrystal warned that it was "highly possible" the Army Ranger was killed by friendly fire.
"I felt that it was essential that you received this information as soon as we detected it in order to preclude any unknowing statements by our country's leaders which might cause public embarrassment if the circumstances of Cpl. Tillman's death become public," McChrystal wrote.

Pat Tillman’s Mother Finds Reports Lacking

SAN JOSE, Calif. --Pat Tillman's mother said Tuesday that her greatest disappointment in the latest investigations into her son's death in Afghanistan was that "horrific" acts by the Army Rangers who shot him were not adequately acknowledged or punished.
"How do you prevent this from happening again unless there's a serious consequence?" Mary Tillman said in an interview with The Associated Press.
The congressman who represents the area where the former NFL star grew up called for congressional hearings, echoing the family's contention that new findings released Monday were insufficient.
"While these may be the most thorough investigations to date, rather than lay to rest troubling questions regarding a personal and national tragedy, however, (Monday's) reports raise more questions than they answer," said Rep. Mike Honda, a Democrat.
Honda asked Rep. Ike Skelton, a Missouri Democrat and chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, to hold hearings and "set right an injustice." A spokeswoman for the committee said he would consider it.
