Below is the email I received Jan. 18, 2007.

Mr. Pence,
I am trying to turn to as many individuals as possible to get out word that
Morgan Wilkins, who you have mentioned before on your amazing blog, won an essay contest through her English class at Jefferson Community and Technical College honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  This is ridiculous and I am outraged because I was sent a picture of this girl tonight that contradicts
everything Dr. King fought so hard for during his life.  Dr. King was a martyr and fought so righteously for racial equality.  He is a personal hero of mine and he would be disgusted for a girl like this to win an award in his name.  She either has or is going to give a speech at a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. banquet.  Please help us by bringing this picture I am sending you to the public.  Please help us make JCTC recognize there mistake.  Please do something. I am an outraged student of the Kentucky Public School System and I cannot believe this is happening.
