Beginning Thursday, October 18, the Kentucky Democratic Party is joining Steve Beshear and Dr. Daniel Mongiardo, Bruce Hendrickson, Jack Conway, Crit Luallen and Todd Hollenbach in the quest to reach out to Kentuckians in every region, as they begin their Bus Tour to Victory 2007. I had the opportunity to shoot video of the Democratic Candidates at Calvert City yesterday and I was very impressed.

• Todd Hollenbach is, in my opinion, the most improved speaker of the entire Democratic ticket. The more I see of this young man the more I like him.
• Crit Luallen is destined to go places, she has a real presence, a gift that not many politicians have. This gal can give a good speech and she doesn't have any baggage.
• Dr. Dan, what can I say, this guy is the real deal. He has it all!!!
• Steve Beshear, great speaker and a stand up guy. I can't wait for him to become governor.

This was my first visit to Fancy Farm and I’m glad I went. The Saturday morning breakfast was out of this world this world. All of the Democratic candidates were there and gave speeches. All of the speeches were great, but Crit Luallen gave one of the best speeches I have ever heard and then she gave a totally different speech that afternoon, two different speeches on the same day, I was impressed.
I didn’t shoot video at the breakfast, but I did get video of the afternoon speeches. I have edited them into short clips in an attempt capture the flavor of the event.

Fellow Democrats of Hardin County, change: to make the form, nature, content, or future course, of (something) different from what it is or from what it would be if left alone. Change is taking place in the stagnant Democratic party of Hardin County. Change is admittedly hard. Growing and stretching can sometimes cause anxiety and face resistance from those who don't welcome it. However, there comes a time for action when change is necessary and imperative. That time is now! There is a new day dawning for the Democrats of this fine county. We have much work to do and the Hardin County Executive Committee welcomes all Democrats to participate. We have wonderful, competent candidates for this year's Gubernatorial election. We need to rally behind Steve Beshear and Dr. Dan Mongiardo. We need to be seen and heard. We need to be proud of our values. We need be passionate about our beliefs and stand toe-to-toe with those trying to define us on blasphemous mis-truths. It's to be proactive - not reactive! We need to remind people what Democrats truly stand for...Diversity, Equality and Fairness. Like all families, churches, organizations etc. that face differences, it can be a time of reflection and growth. Let's take this time reflect - not on the past but to the future. The future is brighter than ever before!
