Health Care Rally in Somerset, Kentucky. Photos And Videos

Can you believe it? Right smack dab in the middle of Red State Kentucky progressive Democrats hold a Health Care Rally. Democratic candidates Darlene Price and Jim Holbert spoke at the event, as did Democratic activist Halyn Roth. Darlene is a Democratic Primary candidate for the U.S. Senate and Jim Holbert is a Democratic candidate for Kentucky's 5th Congressional District. Gatewood Galbraith also spoke at the event. My Message To The Blue Dogs And Their Republican Pals. No Public Option. No Bloated Farm Bills

Oh my how things change when it comes to Health Care Reform. All of the sudden we start hearing words from the Blue Dog Democrats like Revenue Neutral and Deficit Neutral, but in 2008 all of that was cast aside to spend $289 billion for their farmer pals. Remember the "pay as you go" rule being waived to get this bloated $289 billion boondoggle for farmers passed.

Wapedia The House passed the Farm Bill again on May 22, and the Senate shortly thereafter. President Bush again vetoed the measure, but this veto was overridden in both Houses on June 18, so the Farm Bill in its entirety has become law. H.R. 6124 . A similar situation occurred in 2005 with the Deficit Reduction Act , where in the enrolling process certain mistakes were made changing the text of the bill. In that case, the bill was considered to be law even with the mistakes since the Speaker of the House and the President Pro Tem of the Senate attested that the language sent to the President was indeed the text that was passed by Congress.

The bill originally caused controversy because the " pay-as-you-go " (Clause 10 of Rule XXI of the Rules of the United States House of Representatives ) rule was waived . That rule prohibits the consideration of bills that increase the deficit in either a six-year period or an eleven-year period.

The entire Kentucky Congressional delegation voted for this deficit spending, at a cost of $6,102.04 by some estimates, for the average American Family, as did Kentucky Senators Mitch McConnell and Jim Bunning.  So does this make these folks liars when they say they are against any legislation that is not Revenue Neutral and Deficit Neutral?

So my question is this are the Blue Dog Democrats and their Republican pals serious about real Health Care Reform or are they lying through their teeth when they say Revenue Neutral and Deficit Neutral is their guide to passing real Health Care Reform?

When It's About Health Care Lobby Money, The Blue Dog Democrats Ain't Conservative.

So you think the Blue Dog Democrats and their Republican bedfellas are fiscally conservative? Does $187.1 million in campaign contributions from health and insurance interests sound conservative? Maybe it does to the C Street crowd, but to this dumb ass Hillbilly it sounds like a pay off to me. Reckon this bunch prayed over the definition of fiscally conservative before they took the $187.1 million? Ok enough ranting, let's get to the facts.

    * Members of five committees working on health care reform legislation received $187.1 million in campaign contributions over their career from health and insurance interests

    * Elected officials who voted against health reform legislation received 65% more in contributions from health and insurance interests than officials who voted for reform

    * Health reform legislation is bottled up in two committees whose members have received nearly $100 million in campaign contributions from vested industries.

Thank You Congressman John Yarmuth For Standing Up For And Being Counted!

Congressman John Yarmuth took his position on Health Care when he co-sponsored HR 676 (Single Payer Health Care) and those of us that believe "Single Payer" is the only way to go applaud him for standing up against the Insurance Lobby. So where is his support from the Kentucky Democratic Party when it comes to real Health Care Reform? Is the Kentucky Democratic Party with John Yarmuth or against him? Will they leave him to hang out to dry on this issue or will they rally around him and demand real Health Care Reform? I believe it's time to ask every elected Kentucky Democrat and those seeking office exactly where they stand on Real Health Care Reform. What do you think?
