Senator Mitch McConnell slipped away from reporters
using the
bathroom excuse. It sure is nice to know the "legitimate Press"
received a dose of
what we Bloggers been going through for 2 years.
Senator Mitch McConnell is not going to give interviews or speak to
regular folks here in Kentucky, unless they pay $1000 to get into one of his
fundraisers. The only way folks will get to see or hear Senator Mitch McConnell
is if we watch Fox News or listen to Rush Limbaugh.

U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell told a Lexington business group this afternoon that he has a "real campaign (for re-election) this year."
McConnell, who is minority leader, is seeking his fifth term in November. He faces wealthy businessman Bruce Lunsford, a Democrat.
McConnell talked about gas prices, the Iraq war and his re-election campaign in a 22-minute speech at Keeneland in front of about 300 business and political leaders.
Calling high gas prices the biggest issue of this election, McConnell said the solution is "a combination of finding more and using less."
He said he is close to having enough votes to pass a bill that would allow states to open their shores to drilling, provide incentives to automakers to speed up the development of battery-operated vehicles, end the moratorium on oil shale and commission a study of whether speculation is driving up the price of gas.
On Iraq, McConnell said the surge has been a success and he predicts the war "probably will not be a significant issue in the fall."
On his own political future, McConnell made the case for his re-election. He rattled off some of his accomplishments, including his role in negotiating the tobacco master settlement, and said a "rookie" senator could not have accomplished that.
He said he expects "spirited commercials" to air closer to the election and plans to defend himself.
"I'm not giving it up lightly," he said.
McConnell indicated to a group of reporters at the end of the luncheon that he would grant interviews after he used the restroom. He slipped out another door instead.
