The Senate on Thursday night cleared a massive children's health insurance
bill by a veto-proof margin, 67-29. Senators Mitch McConnell and Jim Bunning voted against the
children's health insurance bill.
Earlier in the week the House of Representatives passed children's health
insurance bill 265-159, not enough to override a veto by President Bush.
Kentucky members of The House of Representatives voted along party lines, Democrats John Yarmuth and
Ben Chandler voted for the children's health insurance bill and
Republicans Ron Lewis, Hal Rogers and Geoff Davis voted against the children's
health insurance bill.
